My process is intuitive; the trees lead me to the places where their secrets are revealed and I follow gratefully. The resulting sculptures are sometimes figurative, human or animal; and other times abstract. They all invite the hand to touch. I hope that my efforts to reveal the wondrous spirits encased within chunks of discarded wood will inspire others to pay closer attention to the ever-present wisdom of nature and, especially, the immeasurable gifts and beauty of the trees. Life on earth depends upon the trees.
"The shapes, textures and patterns of nature compel me to make art. Through the living, breathing flesh and grain of downed trees, I pursue their exquisite truth, the stories found in the hearts of all things."
